Jesus In A Camper Van. Hanford, California.

Things you come across while out shopping. Taking the title from a Robbie Williams track form his second (1998) solo studio album “I’ve Been Expecting You”.

The line “Jesus in a camper van, he said “sorry to leave you but I’ve done all I can”. I guess even the son of God gets it hard sometimes, especially when he goes around, saying I am the way.”

The song was replaced when the album was reissued, due to a lawsuit (which Williams lost) claiming he had taken this particular lyric from a Loudon Wainwright III song titled “I Am the Way.” which featured on his album “Attempted Mustache.” Wainwights lyric was, “”Every son of God has a little hard luck sometime, especially when he goes around saying he’s the way.”

Williams claimed he heard the line used while he was in rehab and didn’t know until after recording it that it was a Wainwright lyric.

With all the effort made by the owner of this vehicle to decorate his camper, he’s managed to let his tags in August of 2017 and not renewed/replaced the tag. Maybe ‘The Good Lord’ will watch over him so he or she will escape a ticket.
